Creative Corner is back! Coors Light, Google Pixel and Australian Lamb take home the creative gong in this week's round-up

Happy Friday you lot!

The New Year has started with a blast – albeit a Baltic one with ice and snow enveloping every corner of the UK. Talking of corners, welcome to our little creative one, where this week, Herman Dias and I will be bringing you our take on the latest creative campaigns to grace us.

Whilst the weather is still leaving us a tad chilly, the new year has already brought us some creative inspo to warm the cockles. It's a bit of a sporting theme this week as the Super Bowl marches towards its conclusion and the race for the Premier League heats up, finishing off with a much-deserved nod to Australian Lamb's bang-on social commentary.

Case of the Mondays

No stranger to the Super Bowl, Coors Light has returned for a second successive season with a little gem for (American) football fans.

Anyone who follows American football knows that Sunday is game day, and with the season reaching the playoffs (basically where it kind of turns into a cup knockout), at least one set of fans is going to be left with a case of the Mondays. I mean knockouts on a Sunday, as if Mondays aren’t bad enough already, that’s just cruel.

Anyhow, those clever people at Coors Light are turning a Case of the Mondays into a literal case of beer with Mondays Light, a limited edition just in time for possibly the worst Monday of the year—the day after the Big Game.

Cheers to that.

You’re never gooner believe it

Google Pixel has come out with a stroke of genius just in time for one of football’s biggest derbies – Arsenal vs Tottenham. Fans love a bit of baiting, and the players often bear the brunt. England legend Sol Campbell has taken a lot of stick in his time especially from Tottenham and in this campaign he gives it back, and some.

Some context: with the January transfer window upon us, plenty of players will start kissing the badge of their once rivals - but there are some rivalries where that line should never be crossed, Liverpool Everton; Manchester Leeds; Celtic Rangers and Tottenham Arsenal. Yet, that is exactly what England legend Sol Campbell did back in the 2001 when at his prime he swapped Tottenham for Arsenal.

In a wonderful piece to camera, Sol is seen switching his white jumper to a red one and dusting down his (Arsenal) trophy cabinet as he talks up the virtues of switching to a rival. As a piece of sharable content that strikes at the heart of football banter it is genius in itself, the turning of the white lilies in the hallway is proper naughty, but the natural smatterings encouraging to switch your phone without ramming it down your throat, you can’t help but come away admiring, and remembering, Google Pixel.

Pure back of the net.

Australian Lamb goes above and beyond in 'The Comments Section'

Lastly, Australian Lamb is back after its much-acclaimed effort from around this time last year, and hybrid creative Herman Dias is a fan of this new work.

"This ad, like the best ones, kept me on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out if it was promoting a dog grooming service, addressing climate change, or a critique on YouTube’s wild comment sections.

It cleverly captures the reality of online comments—they can be wildly entertaining, hilariously random, or downright toxic. In a world full of divisions, the brilliance of this ad lies in showing that good food is the one thing that can always unite people together.

One moment that really stood out to me was when everyone was debating about the environment, and then a gentleman randomly said, 'I made $5,000 in a week using this one simple trick.' It perfectly captured the chaotic and unpredictable nature of comment sections in a hilariously unexpected way."

That’s it for this week.

If you’re launching something that deserves a spot in our special Creative Corner, or have seen a campaign you just love, please share it with us.
